Brightwater Home is relaxed, friendly and full of life.
Most days, when you walk through the doors of Brightwater Home you’ll find a hive of activity.
The elders of this well known rest home tell us they enjoy the fantastic social and activities calendar, the companionship and friendly banter and the sense of belonging that comes with this tight-knit community.
Situated in Terrace End in Palmerston North, Brightwater Home is set on attractive grounds with gardens, courtyards and beautiful established trees.
Like any family home, at Enliven’s Brightwater Home there are great shared social spaces, including lounges, gardens and courtyards. Residents and their families use these spaces whenever they like, to socialise, do activities and host visitors.
Brightwater Home is one of just a few aged care facilities in New Zealand with full Eden Alternative certification – the internationally recognised elder-directed model of care.
That means the staff are proven to fully embrace Enliven’s holistic philosophy of care. As well as offering quality healthcare and practical daily support, Brightwater staff will truly get to know you and your loved ones and supporting you to continue the things you love in the way that’s right for you.

Your place. Your space.
When people move to Brightwater Home they often ask us what they can bring or if they can continue with their usual routines. Our answer is simple: this is your home – you are invited to make it your own.
For example, you can get involved in the running of the home, you can come to breakfast in your dressing gown and you can set your room up just how you like it.
Many residents bring items such as photographs, artwork, ornaments, bed covers and even favourite pieces of furniture so they can set up their rooms just the way they like it. Some residents even move in with their pets.
A full range of positive ageing services
With Enliven, as your needs change, so too can the support we provide. Brightwater Home and Village in Palmerston North offers a full range of positive ageing services.
Brightwater Home offers rest home, hospital and secure dementia care. We can also provide short term respite and health recovery care (subject to availability). Brightwater Village, next door to Brightwater Home, provides independent retirement living.
In Manawatu Enliven also operates Palmerston North’s Willard Home and Coombrae Home and Village in Feilding.
Our unique and practical approach to dementia care supports us to interact with residents in a way that keeps them connected to the world around them. It often results in improvement in language, memory, self-esteem and social interactions.
If there comes a time village residents need extra support, they will have priority entry to our Homes when there is availability.

I’d never thought of myself as an artistic person, but I really enjoy making art here. I find it really relaxing, in fact, it’s a bit like meditation for me.
